Overview

The Cosmetology Career Showcase is designed to connect graduating cosmetology students with experienced cosmetologists who are looking to fill positions in their salons and allow the students to earn the required hours to sit for the State Board Exam. The event includes brunch, career speed dating, and sessions where students can learn about participating salons.

How to Get Involved

  • Step 2Participate in a pre-screening call with the North Point Cosmetology Instructors and Student Board.
  • Step 3Arrival time for guests 11:30am
  • Step 4Enjoy brunch and networking with the students.
  • Step 5Participate in career speed dating with the students to find the best fit for your open internship/part-time career opportunities.
  • Step 6Make offer(s) to the selected students you'd like to join your salon team.
  • Step 7NPHS Instructors will meet with you for next steps!

    Note: For your planning purposes, the participating students have already earned between 800-1100 hours under a Senior Licensed Cosmetologist that will go towards meeting their State Board Exam pre-requisites by the time you will meet them in October.

    FAQ’s

    Who can attend?

    North Point High School 12th grade cosmetology students and approved senior cosmetologists are allowed at this event.

    How many students are seeking employment?

    There are seventeen (17) NPHS Cosmetology CTE students participating in this program.

    Is there a fee?

    No, the event is FREE for both students and approved senior cosmetologists.

    What should I bring?

    Students: portfolios, resumes, and your best attitude!

    Cosmetologists: salon brochures, business cards, decor/marketing materials to set-up your “booth ” for the day. You will be provided with up to 4 chairs and a 6ft table. Your booth should represent your brand and attract the perfect team members to join your team. You/your team should also come ready to engage and network with students and share lessons learned during your career that can help them as they enter the industry. Most importantly, Senior Cosmetologists should come prepared to make internship and/or job offers to the participating students.
